MTI’s Leadership Team Demonstrates Business Continuity Strength

MTI is a company powered by people who care. Our leadership team is a crucial part of the MTI family, and we’ve strategically placed each member based on their skills, talents, and experience. The strength of our leadership team was demonstrated most recently by Hurricane Ian, a Category 4 storm that made landfall in southwestern Florida on September 28, 2022. With winds recorded at 150 mph, the storm was the 5th strongest hurricane to strike the United States.

Before the event, MTI leaders gathered to initiate MTI’s disaster recovery and business continuity plans. This advanced crisis planning anticipates critical operational interruptions to ensure MTI can continue to operate and return to a normal state as quickly as possible. For example, MTI leverages a secure, cloud-based infrastructure, employs a remote workforce, utilizes multiple service locations, and has implemented automated backups.

MTI’s leadership team also worked quickly to ensure additional steps were taken to support clients, injured workers, and vendors in the anticipated counties to be affected by Hurricane Ian:

  • Contacted injured workers by phone and text in anticipation of potential schedule changes
  • Contacted all treating facilities and providers to coordinate any reschedules and cancellations to prevent patient no-shows
  • Expedited DME & Medical Supplies deliveries to prevent possible delays
  • Provided status updates to the adjusters and case managers via email on any reschedules and/or cancellations

MTI leaders vowed to make the safety of our employees, injured workers, and our communities a top priority.  We cannot express enough appreciation to the entire MTI family for making this happen.

Hurricane Ian destroyed parts of Florida’s western coast with storm surges reaching 12-18 feet above ground. The city of Fort Myers, located 150 miles west of MTI’s headquarters, recorded a record-high surge of over 7 feet. Overall, MTI was very fortunate because Hurricane Ian had minimal impact on our offices in Pompano Beach and Deerfield.  Our thoughts are with those that were impacted by Hurricane Ian as they pick up the pieces and move forward.   MTI assisted with Hurricane Ian Relief efforts by donating to the American Red Cross and we encourage others to do the same.
